The KLM dutch airline had a great idea to surprise their passenger with an own-designed card game, called Pack&Go. This game has unique rules which can be played easily on the aeroplane traveling to the chosen destinations alone or with frineds and family. Renáta Pócsi and her colleagues invented the idea in the hungarian headquarters. The idea became popular in other countries' KLM office, so they ordered as well. The product became almost worldwide. Renáta asked the very talented and smart teaher, Máte Lencse - who focused on games while dealing with kids - to find out the rules, and she asked me to illustrate the card game. I had to draw almost twenty different destinations ( eg: New York, Curaçao, Toronto, Tokyo, Stockholm, etc...) of the airline and sixty more objects, which you pack into your luggage when you travel somewhere (eg: clothes, shoes, notebook, chargers, tablet, sunglasses, etc). But the complication factor were the following: The cards are only 8x8 cms big. it’s a good size to hold them easily while playing, but it was hard to drawing a lot of details on them, especially recognizable cities. The other part was the colors. KLM has a very strict design guideline manual. It has two primary colors (dark blue and vivid orange) and some other secondary ones (light blue, grey and white). I had to use them as much as I could in every illustration to all look like KLM cities and objects. You can see below some cards and some details as well, but not everything - maybe you get one of the 5000 printed copies while you’re traveling with KLM.
